My favorite brainbooster, very inexpensive and effective.
L-phenylalanine was the very first supplement I ever tried and worked the first time I used it. I first read about it in Durk Pearson's Life Extension books. He wrote about how L-phenylalanine is a building block of brain chemicals that promote alertness and assertiveness and that it had been used experimentally as a brain booster, to help people with stage fright, phobias and other things.
Taken first thing in the morning, it really does promote alertness and clear-thinking, as well as having a mild appetite suppressant effect. It's not drastic but it's noticeable. Pefect for final exams, oral presentations, job interviews, etc. Use 1-3 of these 500 mg capsules per day. The trick is taking L-phenylalanine in the early morning on an empty stomach and waiting at least 40 mins before eating. Try leaving the capsules out on the nightstand and taking them as soon as you get up or shortly before that. Use with caution if you have high blood pressure.
